How to Read and Use the Bolt Torque Chart
-
Identify the Bolt Grade and Material
Start by locating the appropriate grade of your bolt (e.g., Grade 2, Grade 5, or Grade 8) and its material type. This information is critical for selecting the right torque values. -
Find the Bolt Size
Look for the diameter of your bolt in the far left column. -
Match the Torque Specification
Cross-reference the bolt size and grade to find the recommended torque value. The chart provides torque specifications in inch-pounds (in.-lbs.) or foot-pounds (ft-lb).
